How to Beat Baron Nashor in TFT Set 9

If you’re coming back to Teamfight Tactics after a long gap, then you might be a little confused seeing so many new monsters like troops on the screen. Well, although monsters like the Rift Herald and the topic of today’s article, the Baron, are neutral units in Summoner’s Rift, the same isn’t true in TFT.

You see, TFT has recently added a bunch of new monsters that can be summoned by teams, and although summoning some of the stronger monsters is difficult, defeating them is even tougher.

One fine example of a difficult to neat summon is the Baron. Being extremely tanky and having so much attack power, it’s capable of taking down most troops with a single attack all the while making it home for dinner. So the question remains, what do you do when the enemy team is the one to summon a Baron Nashor?

That’s where we come in. We’re here today to give you all the information you need to know if you want even a chance at beating Baron in TFT set 9. We’ll also be giving several tips that are sure to help you take down this giant monster of the Rift once and for all.

Who is Baron Nashor?Who is Baron Nashor?

If you’ve played Summoner’s Rift before, then you might be familiar with Baron Nashor, who is considered to be one of, if not the strongest neutral monster. Well, things are a little different in TFT. Instead of being a neutral monster, it’s possible to summon Baron as your own troop after meeting certain conditions.

    Description

Baron Nashor is a serpent-like creature with features that set it apart from ordinary serpents. It has two mouths, multiple limbs, twelve eyes, and razor-sharp teeth that are capable of hunting large prey. Horned crests on the top of the creature’s head add to the uniqueness of Baron Nashor. With the exterior of the serpent going from a shade of purple to teal, the monster was believed to be extinct for centuries until the recent Void disturbances.

    Understanding the Baron

Baron Nashor is a difficult summon monster to fight without proper strategy, strength, and personnel. However, there is the fact that it isn’t exactly easy to summon the Baron. On the contrary, without the right amount of patience, most players won’t be able to ever summon this game-changing monster.

Why is this, you ask? Well, in order to summon the Baron, it’s crucial for players to have 8 void units. 3 voids summon a small Remora. 6 voids summons the Rift Herald, which is a dangerous summon in its own right, but nowhere near the Baron. Finally, 8 voids summon the Baron, though it’s worth knowing that there are currently only 7 void units in the game which means players will need a void emblem to meet the requirement. Alternatively, it’s also possible to use the Void Heart augment.

    AbilitiesAbilities

Before learning how to defeat the Baron, it is important to understand the creature’s abilities. Baron Nashor possesses various abilities that are activated through the game. The main ability of this summon is called ‘Corrosive Acid,’ and it has both a passive as well as an active condition to it

Passive: Cast every 2 attacks and cycle between 3 different Abilities:, Voracious Bite (damage an enemy and heal), and Void Tentacle (damage and Stun a group).

Active: Lob three pools of acid towards the largest group of enemies, dealing 175 magic damage and 60% Shredding and Sundering for 4 seconds.

The gist of it is that, after every three two basic attacks, the Baron unleashed this devastating ability. The first time this monster throws acid, which deals damage in a small area and has the potential to take down multiple squishy enemies at once.

Then, after two more basic attacks, it uses Voracious Bite, which not only deals major damage to one enemy, but also heals the baron. If that wasn’t enough already, after two more basic attacks, the Baron uses Void Tentacle, which damages and stuns a group of enemies.

    AttacksAttacks

Now, while the Baron has three different types of attacks in Summoner’s Rift, the same isn’t true in TFT because of how small the field is. Therefore, the bottom line of how to beat Baron in TFT is watching out for his one melee attack.

The Baron attacks the nearest enemy with this 0.7 attack speed melee attack which does moderate damage. However, the main thing you have to watch out for is the fact that after every two melee attacks, the Baron will use an ability which we mentioned above. Therefore, it’s recommended that you try to take it out as soon as you can.

    Positioning

Placing your champions on the board will determine your ability to fight. Strategic positioning is the key element to victory. Players should avoid positioning their champions in clusters or groups, and should instead spread them out over the board. Moreover, the champions should avoid getting caught behind the Baron, for it could activate the area-of-effect rear attack.

    Coordination

The coordination of the champions is essential if the player wants to defeat Baron Nashor. All members should be well assembled, with synergies of champions taken into consideration such as their crowd control abilities, and high damage output. The champions should be ready to engage at any moment, and should be properly equipped with suitable items to enhance the effectiveness of taking down the monster as attack speed or survivability factors.

    Prepare and predict

The main focus of the champions should be Baron Nashor. They should be able to attack the monster, while also evading the attacks from the Baron. Players should be ready for the monster’s abilities and should keep in mind the predicted attacks and try to minimize any unnecessary damage to provide a higher chance at victory.

    Using a tank

The most crucial aspect of fighting the Baron is tanks. Tanks are tough champions whose main objective is to soak up damage. They are not designed to kill, rather their main goal is to disrupt and distract enemies. They are positioned at the front in order to take the main hit of the enemy force and in this case, absorb most of the damage from the Baron.

They are responsible for initiating fights, and fully invest themselves in defense mechanisms by using means that amplify their tankiness. While their vulnerability might put them at a disadvantage at times, without a tank, it is nearly impossible to defeat summons, let alone the most powerful monster on summoner rifts like the Baron Nashor itself.

    Using a T Hex

Remember how we mentioned that TFT came out with multiple different monsters you can summon? Well, one of them in Set 9 is the T-Hex.

The T Hex is exclusive to the Piltover trait. When you have three Piltover units on the board, the T Hex will spawn, much like with Void units and Remoras.. Every time you lose a round, the T Hex will gain a “Charge.” When you win a round, those Charges convert into Power that makes the T-Hex stronger. So, this build does encourage some loss-streaks.

However, by making the T Hex strong enough, you will be able to very easily take down the enemy’s Baron with just a couple of shots. If you don’t mind playing the long and risky game, then this is a more than viable way to beat Baron in TFT.

    HealingHealing

Prioritizing champions with greater healing abilities on the board will increase a player’s chance to defeat Baron Nashor. The champions should be equipped with items that provide them a chance to heal such as Lifesteal, which would give the champion a chance to heal for a period of time after sustaining an injury, or Hextech Gunblade, which would grant them sustainability to regain their health after a basic attack from the monster. Moreover, support champions should be included in your team. They have the ability to provide protection or healing abilities to other champions on the board, which would enhance overall team strength.

Another item that provides resilience against attacks is Warmog’s Armour, which would allow the wearer constant regeneration of health. Basically, every time the Baron deals damage to you, you want your champions and other troops on the board to heal enough to stay alive long enough to take the Baron down.

    Level ups

Leveling up your champions will help optimize your chance at defeating the monster. Increase their stats, their health, and their abilities to make them better at fighting and gain the edge. Equip the champions with items that would enhance their abilities, and combine items to create stronger abilities against Lord Baron. Take advantage of synergies, which are bonuses that are activated when special combinations are formed on the board.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, Teamfight Tactics is a fun game where you can play your team strengths. Activate new abilities with bonuses, win competitive matches, and outsmart your opponents with strategy and strength. Once you’ve defeated Baron Nashor, unlock your team’s true potential in a game that provides a unique experience each time you play.
