In the grand theater of League of Legends (LoL), the mid lane is the stage where legends are born and crushed. You’re trying your best, but your victory rate isn’t increasing? You’re not alone. This guide, carefully crafted by seasoned gamers, will help you conquer the mid lane and tip the scales in your favor.

TL;DR:

  • The mid lane is the most impactful role in LoL
  • Top champions and why Syndra was the most picked mid lane champion in the 2020 LoL World Championship
  • Pro tips and strategies to dominate the mid lane Insights and experiences from the pros, including Faker, the legendary LoL player

The Power of the Mid Lane: Why It Matters

Fact: Mid lane is considered the most crucial role in LoL as it has the most impact on the game’s outcome. Why? Because the mid lane is the heart of the battlefield. It has the quickest access to all areas on the map, making it the prime lane for influencing other areas of the game.

Quote: “The mid lane is the heart of the team, and the player who controls it has the power to sway the game in their favor.” – Faker, professional League of Legends player.

Top Mid Lane Champions: Syndra’s ReignTop Mid Lane Champions: Syndra's Reign

During the 2020 LoL World Championship, the most picked mid lane champion was Syndra, boasting a pick rate of 60.4%. Syndra’s immense power and versatility in crowd control made her a game-changer. But remember, it’s not just about picking popular champions – it’s about mastering their abilities and understanding their strengths and weaknesses in the mid lane.

Dominating the Mid Lane: Strategies and Tips

Let’s talk tactics. As a mid laner, your primary goals should include farming effectively, controlling your lane, roaming to help your team, and securing objectives. Remember to keep an eye on the map at all times and communicate with your team.

1. Master Your Farming

The more you farm, the more gold and experience you gain. This makes you stronger, helping you defeat your opponents.

2. Learn to Roam

Roaming allows you to assist other lanes, surprise your enemies, and turn the tide of the game.

3. Ward, Ward, Ward!3. Ward, Ward, Ward!

Vision is vital in LoL. Wards can help avoid ganks, spot enemy junglers, and secure objectives.

Insider Tips: The Faker Way

As Faker once said, the mid lane is the heart of the team. But how does one become the heart? Faker advises to always practice, remain adaptable, and never stop learning.

Champion Spotlight: The Mid Lane Powerhouses

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach in the mid lane. Let’s dive into a few champions who have proven their worth in this battlefield.

Zoe: The Aspect of TwilightZoe: The Aspect of Twilight

Zoe is a burst mage who excels at picking off enemies from a distance. Her ability to steal summoner spells with her ‘W – Spell Thief’ can turn the tide in her favor. Mastering Zoe requires precision and prediction, so she’s perfect for those who love a challenge.

Yasuo: The Unforgiven

Yasuo is a high-risk, high-reward champion. His ‘E – Sweeping Blade’ allows him to dash through minion waves, making him highly mobile. A well-timed ‘R – Last Breath’ can be a game-changer in team fights, but beware – Yasuo requires a high skill level and excellent decision-making abilities.

Ahri: The Nine-Tailed FoxAhri: The Nine-Tailed Fox

Ahri is a versatile mage who can adapt to various play styles. With her ‘R – Spirit Rush’, she can quickly reposition herself in team fights or pick off fleeing enemies. Ahri’s charm (‘E – Charm’) can also disrupt enemy formations, providing her team with opportunities to strike.

Strategizing for Success: Phases of the Game

Early Game

Focus on farming and trading wisely with your opponent. Avoid pushing too far without vision, as it leaves you vulnerable to ganks.

Mid Game

This is where roaming becomes crucial. Look for opportunities to help your teammates, secure objectives, or eliminate enemies.

Late Game

Positioning in team fights is crucial. Keep a close eye on the map, and work closely with your team to secure major objectives like Baron Nashor or the Elder Dragon.

Matchups and Counterplay: Know Your Enemy

Understanding your matchup can be the difference between victory and defeat. Research your opponent’s abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. If you’re up against a Zed, for instance, you’ll want to play defensively and consider investing in armor.

Pro Perspectives: Wisdom from the Top

Aside from Faker, other pros also share their wisdom. Bjergsen, a seasoned mid laner, once said, “Never underestimate the value of patience. Sometimes, the best action is to wait for the right moment to strike.”

Items Unleashed: Gear up for Victory

The right items can make a significant difference in your mid lane performance. Here are a few favorites among mid lane champions:

Luden’s Echo

A go-to item for many mages due to its passive that provides extra burst damage and helps with wave clear. The additional cooldown reduction and mana are also beneficial.

Infinity Edge

A must-have for attack damage (AD) oriented champions like Yasuo. It increases your critical strike damage, giving you a significant boost in duels and team fights.

Seeker’s Armguard

If you’re up against an AD opponent, this item can provide some much-needed armor early in the game. Plus, it builds into Zhonya’s Hourglass, a lifesaver against burst damage.

But the real fun starts when Katarina activates her ultimate, Death Lotus. With a flurry of blades that rain down on her enemies, Katarina becomes a whirlwind of destruction that can quickly turn the tides of any team fight.

19. LeBlanc19. LeBlanc

LeBlanc, the Deceiver, is a sneaky assassin who loves nothing more than bamboozling her opponents. With her mastery of deception and trickery, she’s like a magician on the Rift, only instead of pulling rabbits out of hats, she pulls enemy champions out of existence.

LeBlanc’s playstyle is all about mind games and misdirection. She’s like a cat toying with a mouse, only instead of a mouse, it’s a hapless mid-laner who thinks they can outsmart her. But don’t let her playful demeanor fool you – she’s deadly serious about her craft. When she’s not busy juking and jiving around the battlefield, she’s putting together elaborate schemes to take down her enemies.

If you’re looking for a mid-laner who can outmaneuver and outsmart the competition, LeBlanc is your girl. Just be sure to keep your wits about you, because she’s always got a trick up her sleeve. And remember, if you ever think you’ve got her figured out, she’ll just disappear in a puff of smoke and leave you wondering what just happened.

18. Zed18. Zed

Zed, the edgy ninja assassin, is a popular pick in the mid-lane for those who enjoy taking risks and living dangerously. He’s not your typical champion – instead of relying on boring old spells, Zed channels his inner ninja to unleash a flurry of shurikens and deadly shadows upon his enemies.

But don’t let his flashy moves fool you – Zed takes skill and finesse to play effectively. You can’t just mash your keyboard and hope for the best (well, you can, but it probably won’t end well). You have to think like a ninja, constantly strategizing and outmaneuvering your opponents.

Of course, there’s nothing more satisfying than pulling off the perfect Zed combo and watching your enemy’s health bar plummet faster than a boulder off a cliff. Just don’t get too cocky – a good Zed knows when to strike and when to retreat. As they say, “with great power comes great responsibility…and a whole lot of potential for epic plays.”

17. Orianna17. Orianna

Orianna, the lady of clockwork, is a master of keeping time – or rather, keeping her enemies on their toes. With her trusty ball companion, she can command the battlefield with ease. And let’s not forget, she’s always fashionably on time with her impeccable outfit and stunning blonde locks.

But Orianna isn’t just a pretty face – or ball, as it were. She’s a calculated strategist, using her unique abilities to manipulate the battlefield and outsmart her opponents. Whether it’s zoning out enemies with her Command: Dissonance or pulling off a clutch Command: Shockwave, Orianna always keeps her opponents guessing.

And if all else fails, she can always fall back on her trusty ball to do the heavy lifting. Because who needs brute strength when you have a literal metal sphere on your side?

16. Syndra16. Syndra

Syndra, the Dark Sovereign, is a champion that commands respect in the mid-lane with her ability to manipulate orbs and opponents alike. Her kit is all about controlling the battlefield, much like a bossy mother-in-law controlling the family dinner table.

With her Q, she can throw orbs at her enemies like a kid throwing a tantrum with their toys. But don’t let her E fool you; it’s not an electronic gadget, but a powerful force that can push her foes away like an angry mama bear protecting her cubs.

What makes Syndra so powerful is her ultimate, Unleashed Power. It’s like a mic drop moment where she smashes all her orbs onto an enemy, dealing massive damage. It’s a bit like a frustrated parent unleashing their anger on a disobedient child who won’t listen.

But unlike that parent, Syndra doesn’t need to worry about child services knocking on her door. With her unmatched ability to control the battlefield, Syndra is the perfect pick for those who want to dominate the mid-lane and assert their dominance like a boss.

15. Twisted Fate15. Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate, the suave gambler of the mid-lane, is one of League of Legends’ most iconic champions. With his flashy gold-embossed cards and dapper suit, he’s always ready to take on opponents with a flair that’d make any casino dealer envious.

But don’t let his stylish exterior fool you – Twisted Fate’s kit is a force to be reckoned with. Armed with his Pick a Card ability, he can unleash a flurry of damage on unsuspecting enemies or stun them in their tracks. And his ultimate, Destiny, allows him to teleport across the map and surprise gank any lane that needs his help.

But as any seasoned TF player knows, the true secret to success is mastering the art of card selection. Will it be a red card for AoE damage, blue for mana regeneration, or the elusive gold card for a crucial stun? With Twisted Fate, the choices are endless – just like the piles of gold he’s sure to earn from his opponents.

14. Cassiopeia14. Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia, the serpent’s embrace, is one of the most slippery and venomous mid-laners in the game. With her serpent-like movements and deadly abilities, she’s not afraid to slither her way through a crowd of enemies and unleash a flurry of poison on her foes.

Playing Cassiopeia is like playing a game of cat and mouse, except you’re the cat, and your enemies are the mice. You’ll constantly be looking for opportunities to strike, weaving in and out of danger with your agile movements and swift attacks. But beware, one wrong move and you could find yourself bitten by the very venom you’ve been dishing out.

If you’re looking for a mid-laner that can not only dish out a ton of damage but also make your enemies squirm in fear, then Cassiopeia is the champion for you. Just remember, when playing as Cassiopeia, you’re not just a champion, you’re a snake in the grass waiting to strike.

13. Yasuo13. Yasuo

Yasuo, the Wind Samurai, is a notorious mid-laner in high elo games. With his flashy mobility and outplay potential, he’s the perfect pick for players who enjoy making their opponents ragequit. Whether you’re dashing through minions or whirling around your foes with your sweeping blade, Yasuo is sure to leave your enemies in a state of awe (or frustration).

But let’s be real here: Yasuo isn’t for the faint of heart. Playing him requires an insane amount of skill and finesse, which is why he’s such a popular pick among high elo players. If you’re not careful, you’ll find yourself diving headfirst into a 1v5 and getting completely decimated before you can even land a single Q. But if you can master the art of dodging and weaving, Yasuo can be an absolute terror on the Rift.

At the end of the day, Yasuo is all about style. Whether you’re flashing your mastery emote after a successful tower dive or ulting five enemies at once and getting blown up in the process, there’s no denying that Yasuo is one of the most entertaining champions to play in League of Legends.

12. Viktor12. Viktor

Viktor is a mid-laner who loves to take the term “high elo” to a whole new level. This mechanical marvel is a true champion of the art of augmenting, using his Hextech Core to turn himself into a force to be avoided. With precise timing and quick thinking, Viktor can dominate any game, leaving his enemies wondering how he managed to outplay them so effortlessly.

In the hands of a skilled player, Viktor’s kit can be devastating. His laser beam can melt the faces off anyone foolish enough to stand in his way, while his Gravity Field can leave entire teams scrambling for cover. His ultimate, Chaos Storm, is a true marvel of technological terror, raining down destruction on all who dare challenge him.

But don’t let Viktor’s high elo status fool you into thinking he’s all serious business. After all, he is a bit of a mad scientist, and he loves nothing more than tinkering with his gear to see what new and exciting ways he can terrorize his opponents. So if you’re looking for a mid-laner who’s as fun as he is deadly, Viktor is the champion for you. Just be sure to keep your wits about you, or you may find yourself on the receiving end of one of his infamous hex-core upgrades.

11. Zoe11. Zoe

Zoe, the Aspect of Twilight, is a mischievous and quirky mid-laner that demands a high level of mechanical skill and strategic thinking. With her signature Paddle Star, she can dish out unexpected burst damage and catch her opponents off-guard from the safety of her Sleepy Trouble Bubble.

In the hands of a skilled high elo player, Zoe becomes a force to be feared. Her ability to pick off squishy targets and quickly traverse the map with her portal jump makes her a valuable asset in any team composition. But be warned, playing Zoe requires more than just landing skillshots – you must also have a keen sense of positioning and a willingness to take risks.

While Zoe may not be the easiest champion to master, those who put in the time and effort to learn her mechanics will find themselves rewarded with a highly versatile and entertaining playstyle. Just be prepared to deal with the occasional salty opponent who can’t handle getting hit by a well-placed Sleepy Trouble Bubble – after all, it’s not Zoe’s fault they’re so easily snooze-proned.

10. Ryze10. Ryze

Ryze, the blue guy with the scrolls, is a mid-laner that requires some serious brainpower to play. Not only do you need to be able to count to five (the number of runes he can store), but you also have to be able to press all of his buttons in the right order. And let’s not forget about his ult, which can either make or break a team fight depending on how well you use it.

In the hands of a skilled player, Ryze can be an absolute terror on the Rift. Faker, the god of League of Legends himself, has shown time and time again that he can make Ryze dance like a puppet on a string. His ability to use Ryze’s combos to devastating effect has earned him the title of the Unkillable Demon King, and rightfully so.

But Ryze isn’t just a one-trick pony for Faker to show off his skills with. In the right hands, he can dominate a game and take over the mid-lane with ease. His ability to dish out damage while also being surprisingly tanky makes him a valuable asset to any team.

9. Qiyana9. Qiyana

Qiyana is not your typical mid-laner. She’s a fierce elemental brawler who’ll make you want to leave the Rift and never come back. Her style is all about showing off her skills and making you feel like a fool. With her deadly weapon, she’ll slash and dice through your armor and leave you stunned, literally.

But what really sets Qiyana apart from the other mid-laners is her style. She’s all about the bling, and boy does she know how to flaunt it. From her regal, gold-encrusted armor to her sleek, flowing hair, she’s the epitome of style and sophistication. And when she unleashes her elemental powers, it’s like a fireworks show on steroids.

If you’re looking for a mid-laner who can show off their skills while looking like a boss, then Qiyana is the champion for you. She’s deadly, she’s stylish, and she’ll leave your opponents quaking in their boots.

8. Akali8. Akali

Akali, the Queen of the mid-lane, is the perfect champion for those who like to show off their skills while making their enemies cry. With her deceptive smoke bombs and lightning-fast movements, she can make even the most skilled players feel like they’re just mashing buttons on their keyboard.

What makes Akali truly unfair is her ability to deal insane amounts of damage while being practically unkillable. With her shroud ability, she can disappear from sight and reappear behind her unsuspecting foes, leaving them confused and disoriented before delivering the final blow. And if anyone tries to counter her with crowd control, she can simply slip away with her Twilight Shroud.

Playing against Akali can be an exercise in frustration, as it seems like no matter how hard you try, she always manages to slip away with a sliver of health left. But for those who have mastered her mechanics, there is no greater feeling than outplaying your opponents and watching them tilt as they succumb to your superior skills.

7. Galio7. Galio

Galio, the Sentinel’s Sorrow, is a champion that embodies the phrase “big things come in big packages”. Literally. He’s a massive gargoyle that can transform into a statue, and if you’re not careful, you might mistake him for a fountain. However, unlike a fountain, Galio is not stationary, and he can fly. Yes, that’s right, he can fly. So if you’re having trouble locating him, just look up.

In terms of gameplay, Galio is a utility mage that can tank, disrupt, and deal damage all at once. He’s like a Swiss army knife, except he’s not from Switzerland, and he doesn’t have a knife. He does, however, have a giant gust of wind that he can use to knock up enemies, and a shield that can absorb damage and taunt anyone foolish enough to attack him.

Plus, his ultimate ability lets him fly into the air, become untargetable, and slam back down to the ground, dealing massive damage and knocking up everyone around him. It’s like a bird’s-eye view earthquake, except he’s not a bird, and earthquakes don’t knock people up.

Overall, Galio is a unique and versatile champion that can fit into any team composition. Whether you’re looking for a tank, a mage, or a flying gargoyle, Galio has got you covered. Just remember to keep an eye on the sky, because he might be watching you. And if you’re lucky, he might even give you a ride.

6. Azir6. Azir

Azir, the Emperor of the Sands, is one of the most complex mid-laners in League of Legends. This guy is like a puzzle, and if you’re not careful, you might just end up playing yourself. Seriously, this bird dude can shuffle his way into your team and create a sandstorm that will leave you scratching your head wondering what just happened.

One of the most satisfying things about playing Azir is landing a well-timed Emperor’s Divide. This ultimate ability is like a giant middle finger to the enemy team, pushing them away while dealing massive damage. It’s like Azir is saying, “You shall not pass!” to the enemy team. Just don’t get too excited and use it at the wrong time, or you’ll end up pushing your own team away instead.

But let’s be real, Azir isn’t all sunshine and sandstorms. He’s a bit of a diva and demands a lot of attention. If you’re not constantly monitoring his sand soldier army, they might just disappear on you. And if you’re not positioning yourself properly, you might end up getting swarmed by the enemy team faster than you can say “Shurima!”

5. Anivia5. Anivia

Anivia, the Cryophoenix, is not your average mid-laner. With her egg-shaped body and icy demeanor, she can freeze her enemies in their tracks and leave them feeling cold as ice. Don’t let her slow-moving exterior fool you, though; Anivia can pack a punch with her frosty spells and soaring ice walls.

One of Anivia’s most unique abilities is her passive, which allows her to respawn after being killed, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. It’s like having an extra life, or a get-out-of-jail-free card. But don’t get too excited, because it takes a while for her egg to hatch, and she’ll be vulnerable in the meantime.

If you’re looking for a mid-laner who can control the battlefield and leave enemies shivering in their boots, Anivia is a great choice. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve, as her abilities can be tricky to master. But with a bit of practice, you’ll be soaring like a bird and leaving your enemies feeling frosty.

4. Talon4. Talon

Talon, the infamous blade’s shadow, is a master of stealth and deception in the mid-lane. With his arsenal of deadly daggers and swift maneuvers, he leaves his opponents scratching their heads, wondering where the heck he went.

His agility and precision are reminiscent of an acrobat from the circus, but don’t be fooled – this guy isn’t here to entertain you. Talon is here to take names and cut down anyone who stands in his way.

With moves that would make the Assassins Creed proud, Talon can leap, dive, and slice his way through the enemy team with ease. One moment he’s on your tail, and the next, he’s vanished into thin air, leaving you with nothing but a sense of dread and a few deep wounds.

So if you hear the whisper of steel behind you, and the hair on the back of your neck stands on end, don’t look back. It’s already too late. Talon is here, and he’s ready to make you regret ever stepping foot in his domain.

3. Ahri3. Ahri

Ahri, the foxy mid-laner, is a champion with a unique playstyle that’s as elusive as a cat chasing a laser pointer. Her kit is a blend of mobility and burst damage, making her a formidable foe to any opponent who dares to face her. With her charming personality and seductive looks, she has the power to charm not only her enemies but also her allies.

One of the most entertaining things about playing Ahri is her ultimate, which allows her to dash around the battlefield like a hyperactive squirrel. Whether you’re trying to dodge incoming skill shots or chasing down a low health enemy, her ultimate is the perfect tool for the job. And let’s not forget about her Q, which is as deadly as a bee sting, and her E, which can charm an enemy and leave them vulnerable to your team’s attacks.

But don’t be fooled by her cute exterior; Ahri is a champion who means business. With her ability to outplay her opponents and her incredible roaming potential, she’s a force to be reckoned with in the mid lane. So, if you’re looking for a champion that can charm her way to victory, look no further than the foxy Ahri.

2. Sylas2. Sylas

Sylas, the unapologetic rogue mage, has made a name for himself in the mid-lane. With his ability to steal ultimates from his opponents, he’s like a kid in a candy store, except the candy is the sweet sweet power of his enemies. Sylas’ gameplay is not for the faint of heart. It takes a certain level of audacity to dive into a team fight with a stolen ult and not look back.

But Sylas is more than just a one-trick pony. He has an impressive arsenal of abilities that make him a formidable foe in his own right. His chains can root enemies in place, making them sitting ducks for his teammates to swoop in for the kill. And his shield allows him to tank some serious damage, which is especially handy when he’s up against a pesky assassin.

Playing Sylas is like being a master thief. You have to be quick on your feet and always looking for the next big score. With his sly grin and devil-may-care attitude, Sylas is the perfect mid-laner for those who love to live dangerously. Just make sure you don’t get caught with your hand in the cookie jar.

1. Fizz1. Fizz

Fizz, the playful trickster of the League, is a champion that never fails to bring a smile to your face. He may not look like much, with his diminutive stature and fishy appearance, but don’t let that fool you. This little guy packs a punch that’ll make even the biggest bullies of the mid-lane think twice before messing with him.

Fizz’s greatest strength lies in his ability to one-shot his enemies. With his ultimate, Chum the Waters, he can unleash a massive shark that’ll send even the bravest of champions running for the hills. And if that’s not enough, he can follow it up with his playful Trickster ability to dodge any counterattacks and reposition himself for maximum damage.

But it’s not just Fizz’s ultimate that makes him a force to be reckoned with. His Seastone Trident ability allows him to deal devastating damage over time, and his Urchin Strike can close the gap between him and his target in a flash. With these abilities in his arsenal, Fizz can take down even the toughest of opponents with ease.

Conclusion

And there you have it, summoners! With these 20 high-ELO mid lane champions in your arsenal, you’ll be well on your way to dominating the Rift, making your foes tremble, and perhaps even adding a little extra flair to your victory dance.

But remember, becoming a mid lane master is not just about picking the right champion—it’s also about honing your skills, perfecting your map awareness, and, of course, keeping a good sense of humor.

So, go forth and conquer, and may the odds be ever in your favor. And who knows, with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of practice, you might just find yourself becoming the next Faker—or at least the star of your own Bronze-to-Challenger montage!

League of Legends is filled to the brim with Champions. Now officially sporting over 160 Champions, the pool (or cesspool) continues to expand ad nauseum. Of course, with how Riot has handled Champion releases recently, many of them are known as being overpowered, overloaded, or simply – broken.

A broken Champion is one considered by a huge portion of the community as being unbalanced and poorly designed. There are many notoriously broken Champions, and some hilarious moments in League’s history with them. This article will cover the 7 most broken Mid Lane Champions in League of Legends, a Lane very much overpopulated with OP Champs.

Of course, we’ve covered other Lanes and Roles. To see more about that, check out our website and take a deep dive into the many topics we write about. Broken Champions and things of such nature are especially dear to us as they allow smearing Riot’s poor design choices as much as possible. It wouldn’t be a LeagueFeed article without some ranting in it.

So, without further ado, let us begin with our bizarre list. Enjoy!

Yasuo

Yasuo is one of those Champions who have defined the term broken. He’s been in the game for almost a decade now, and every single match he’s in is filled with callouts, rage, swearing, etc. No one likes to face a Yasuo as his power can reach such obscene levels that 1v5s become an afterthought for him. He’s a tremendous Champion and force to be reckoned with.

Yasuo’s brokenness mostly resides in his overall design. Everything about him screams damage and mobility, allowing him to quickly and easily take out anyone he desires. With a passive that doubles any Critical Strike Chance, Yasuo can reach a 100% crit like it’s nothing. Using this double damage (amplified with Infinity Edge), Yasuo cuts through enemies like butter. Hell, once he gets a few items in it isn’t even worth it to try and kill him.

He’s incredibly fast, able to dash through the Lanes and enemies. This high mobility, combined with his quick and lethal damage, means that Yasuo can virtually 1v5 – dashing from one enemy to the other. Killing people is kinda his thing, and he’ll wreak havoc upon all opponents. I highly recommend you play Yasuo, especially if you’re a newer player.

His high skill cap gives a ton of space for beginners to explore and evolve, making him a perfect choice for newbies. Whatever your skill level, you should go and give him a try. Though, do keep in mind – the whole of the community will despise you.

Yone

Most Broken Mid Laner Yone League of LegendsI will rarely include both Yone and Yasuo on the same article. However, when talking about broken Champions, it is simply inevitable. These two Champions take their brotherly bond to a whole new level, both being equally overpowered. Depending on the situation, you might view one as more broken than the other. It feels as if it’s a competition, and like their lore says, it might just be. Riot really likes to give us an intriguing experience.

Yone is a Champion that can be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Able to recall himself to a past position after massacring you is his forte. From the moment he hits level 3 onwards, Yone is a complete beast that is frustratingly difficult to contain. Seeing an overfed Yone player is nothing unusual, as he can easily rack up kills with his potent kit.

Solo carrying his team is also another part of his character. He can single handedly obliterate people without a care in this world. If there happens to be a strong Enchanter Support on his team, it’s basically game over. I cannot recount the number of times a Yuumi-Yone combo wrecked me in the game. These two go together like bread and butter, and I dread ever seeing them against me.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend this Champion to anyone due to how much I hate him. However, not jumping on the opportunity to abuse an OP Champion would be stupid, no matter the morality behind it. Make sure you utilize his strengths to advance your disposition in the ladder, we allow it this time.

Kassadin

Kassadin is a slowly brewing beast that strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies. Whenever people see a Kass on the opposing side, something changes within them. Though he’s been in the game for God knows how long, he remains one of the most broken Champions ever designed. Riot even tried to counteract this with numerous changes, patches, etc. but never managed to contain his might completely. The history of Kassadin is one of brokenness, domination, and slaughter.

Kassadin is, as I’ve said, a slow brew. He takes his time to reach his desired power level. The early game is not so gracious to him, and I’d even say he has one of the worst early games in League proper. However, if one is patient enough and works their way around this, they’ll certainly be rewarded. You see, Kassadin is a power-scaler, meaning that he grows exponentially with each passing minute.

A couple levels in his Ultimate and an item or two in the inventory make Kassadin unstoppable. It takes no more than a cast or two to completely eviscerate even the tankiest of opponents. No carry out there is able to face him directly once he reaches his desired might, and that’s not an overstatement. Kassadin is genuinely broken in the Late game, and what he’s able to do then is frightening to even think about.

A raging beast, Kassadin is indeed one of the most powerful Champions in League to date. While he does take his time to become a monster, he certainly makes up for it. I highly recommend you give him a try and cannot stress how much I love this Champion.

Lux

Of course, whenever she can be on a list, she just is. Riot’s favorite posterchild (or maybe second favorite following Arcane’s release) Lux is genuinely broken to the core. Naturally, one might assume this is because she is among the most popular Champions ever, with over a dozen skins. And they’d be right, Riot purposefully keeps this piece of crap broken due to how much revenue she alone generates. And let’s just see what is it that makes her tick.

Lux’s might comes from her insane unbalance between cooldowns and damage. Her long-range abilities are easily spammable, don’t consume much Mana, and can wreck your health bar. From the earliest points in the game until the very end, Lux will relentlessly throw her spells at you, chunking you with each. No matter how Tanky you get, she will still penetrate through all of your defenses.

Spell after spell after spell, Lux never ends her onslaught. Getting close to her is nigh impossible, save for a few Assassins. The only way of winning a direct confrontation is to avoid everything she throws and hit an opening. Let me give you a friendly reminder that doing so is equally as impossible, and all it takes is a single Q to land. If she manages to root you, you’re done for, as her combo will come out in milliseconds.

Getting used to the black and white screen is a good idea as you’ll have no stress facing Lux. Make sure to either pick or ban this Champion, as someone will if you don’t. Her popularity means that you’ll face her more often than you think, and it’s best to keep her permanently banned for the sake of keeping your wits.

I won’t dribble on about Lux anymore, but do note this – everyone hates her, and everyone will hate you for playing her. Though we approved of the Yone pick, this one we have to sit out.

Fizz

Fizz is among League’s top AP Carries, and he embodies the carry spirit fully. His power is immense, and can easily pass as broken. No Champion in this game should be able to kill people in two clicks, but Riot doesn’t care. Because they don’t care we get Champions like Fizz, and others on this list, who specialize in doing just that. The fewer clicks it takes to kill someone, the better. That’s all the philosophy around broken Champions in League of Legends.

Fizz will take a moment before becoming the true fishy menace that he is. Level 3 is when stuff starts rolling, and he will continue rolling into a huge snowball until the very end. Level after level, minute after minute, Fizz’s power grows exponentially. This keeps on going forever, and he only gets stronger as time goes on.

The fact that he can go completely invulnerable while using one of the best mobility spells in the game should be self-explanatory. To be honest, whenever someone asks if Fizz is broken, you should tell them that and nothing else. If it was the only spell he had, he would be considered broken. It’s so blatantly overpowered and badly designed that I cannot even stress it enough.

Everything else in his kit, the combo potential, and the obscene damage scaling all add to the brokenness. A well-rounded broken mess, Fizz is certainly something else. But, despite all that, he is insanely fun to play. And, as much as it pains me to do it, I highly recommend him to everyone reading this article. As I’ve stated with Yone, it would be dumb not to capitalize on a broken Champion while you still can.

Zed

The primera Assassin, Zed is the top Mid Lane killer. Saying he’s broken would be an understatement, as this Champion is capable of doing thousands of damage in a single spell. Though the durability update sought to mitigate that, it did nothing to stop Champions like Zed. However, there are no Champions like Zed as he is, indeed, one of a kind. He is the king of all Assassins out there, and reigns supreme with an iron fist.

Zed’s brokenness comes from his entire kit. Everything about it is insane, from the base damage to the functionality. He has an insane amount of mobility paired with an even crazier damage cap, which seemingly has no end. Capable of doing literal thousands of damage in just his Ultimate (not to mention his combos), Zed is quite something.

I don’t even have to drag this entry for that long to explain how broken he is. You’ve all probably faced him, and those who didn’t eventually will. His popularity means that he’s often around. I’d recommend people to either keep him permanently banned or permanently picked. Whichever comes first. Facing a good Zed player is like intentionally giving yourself a handicap – you just have less chances of winning.

It didn’t always use to be like this. Zed was a powerful early to mid game Champion that lost his prowess by the late game. However, with how everything changed in League of Legends, Zed can now dominate from start to finish, never losing his consistency. Thus, as I’ve said above, either play him at all times or ban him. I cannot say which is better.

Katarina

Most Broken Mid Laner Katarina League of LegendsKatarina is one of the oldest entries on this list, but certainly not the weakest. While I rarely do these lists numbered (to avoid any subjectivity), I have to state that Katarina is among the more powerful here. Though she isn’t exactly Zed, at least not at all times, she is definitely a tremendously powerful AP Carry that is broken to the core. She’s undergone several changes over the years, but none have stopped her onslaught in the slightest.

Katarina, like Kassadin, takes a moment to reach her true power level. Until then, she can calmly farm up and evolve. It won’t take long for her abilities to click, allowing her to commence her killing spree. Able to jump around the map with an insane amount of mobility, Katarina is an elusive Assassin that can kill five people in the blink of an eye.

Her Ultimate is capable of dishing out thousands of damage in seconds. Even if you were to live through it, she can quickly catch up using the power of her mobility. Every kill gives Katarina a cooldown refresh, meaning that chained kills are a piece of cake for her. Some other abilities in her kit also offer cooldown refreshes, making her one of the most spamming Champions in League. I love Katarina in every possible way, and I’m sure you will, too.

Thus, I wholeheartedly recommend that you play her, no matter how broken she might be.

Conclusion

League of Legends is overflowing with Champions, with new releases around every corner. Such a large roster of Champions is bound to have a few bad apples. Broken Champions are inevitable in a game of this scale, and the ones above are certainly some of them. Mid Laners are a particular branch of Champions designed primarily for damage and map control. The Champions above are crowned supreme in this regard, even though they’ve gained such respect through nefarious means.

I hope you’ve found this article informative and fun to read, and I wish you all the best on the Summoner’s Rift!

The midlane is the most action-packed role in League of Legends. Full of deadly assassins and powerful mages, champions in the midlane often have the most kills in any match.

But what should you do if you aren’t getting enough of that adrenaline kick even from this fast-paced midlane laning phase? Pick a champion that is good at roaming and fight all over the map right from the early game!

This article goes over the best, tried-and-tested roaming champions that you should play in the midlane to easily climb up the ranked ladder.

The Importance Of Roaming

Roaming, as the name suggests, simply means leaving your lane to go and fight elsewhere. This may translate to a skirmish in the jungle, or a scuttle fight in the river with both junglers present, or even a 3v2 that you create by joining your botlane against the opponents’.

You may think that roaming will make you lose on that previous minion wave in your lane, but in fact a single kill from a good roam will give you more gold than a complete cannon wave of minions. Besides, the best roaming players manipulate their wave before they leave the lane such that they lose minimal cs and experience.

Roaming works in a very simple way. It puts your team at a numbers advantage by increasing the number of players of your team in any fight, as compared to the number of enemies present. This is why a good roam will almost always put your team at a big advantage.

Best Roaming Picks For Midlane

Now that you know how roaming can help you, you probably want to try out a champion that excels at it. Well, given below is a list of the best roaming champions that you can play in the midlane for some free wins:

Talon

Best Roaming Mid Laner Talon League of LegendsWhat do you get when you combine an extremely powerful early game champion with a lot of mobility? The perfect roaming champion. If you have played as, or even against him, you know that Talon is THE champion for roaming around the map.

Talon is known as a midlaner with one of the best roaming potentials in the game because of his E Assassin’s Path. This ability literally allows him to vault over walls. This means he can traverse the map much faster as compared to other champions.

In addition to his insane mobility, Talon is also a huge early game threat because of his insanely high damage. He can 100-0 anyone with a full combo and ignite as early as he hits level 3.

Playstyle and Tips:

Talon is one of those champions on which you utilise their strong early game to end the game as early as possible. This definitely can be done through rendering your enemy laner useless by killing them over and over again.

But an even better way to make the most out of Talon’s kit is to roam around the map through your E and kill other laners, letting your teammates get ahead as well. In this way, you will create a big gold and experience gap between both teams and secure an easy win.

Aurelion Sol

Best Roaming Mid Laner Aurelion Sol League of LegendsAurelion Sol may not have a very high pickrate and popularity, but certainly has one of the best roaming potentials in League of Legends. With a kit full of heavy crowd control and extremely high out-of-combat mobility, you will enjoy this champion if you like roaming.

His E Comet of Legend allows him to fly over all terrain at a very high speed, and he can cover insane amounts of distance extremely fast. This is what sets him apart from other midlaners.

His Q Starsurge can also be charged up as he flies in his E, and this allows him to build up a huge stun with a very large area of effect. He can even stun an entire enemy team at once if they are close enough.

Playstyle and Tips:

Aurelion Sol is usually best played as an AP bruiser, with health and AP items paired with burn damage ones. As such, he excels in taking extended trades. His short cooldowns on Q and W add on to this.

But if you are playing Electrocute, his full combo including his Q stun, paired with an ignite can actually kill an enemy champion with ease. Just save your R knockback for when an enemy assassin jumps on you if you are playing a damage build since it will make you squishier.

Be sure to utilise your E to the max range, and use it to roam between lanes. Start charging your Q as well so when you reach your enemies, it has expanded into a big circle, which will stun anyone caught up in its radius.

Galio

Best Roaming Mid Laner Galio League of LegendsGalio is yet another champion whose kit is made for you to roam with. You can support your teammates in fights all across the map if you are playing this champion, and a good Galio will always tip the scales in his team’s favour.

Galio’s R Hero’s Entrance allows you to pick any ally champion’s location for you to fly to, and when you land there you deal damage to and knock up all enemy champions in a large circle. As you can probably imagine, this ability is a nightmare for your enemies.

Imagine this: a 2v2 skirmish is taking place in the botlane and you are playing Galio in the midlane. Your teammate calls for help and you fly into their lane and make the fight an unfair 2v3 for the enemy team. Easy win!

Playstyle and Tips:

Galio is an extremely strong midlaner. Depending on your playstyle, you can play him as a tank or build full AP. In either case, Galio will always disrupt enemies in teamfights because of how much crowd control he has in his kit.

Be sure to always look out for your teammates if you play Galio, because the easiest way to win using this champion is to turn teamfights around into your team’s favour through your turbulent presence.

Fizz

Best Roaming Mid Laner Fizz League of LegendsFizz, the tidal trickster, is one of the most slippery champions in the game, literally. And this is not just because he is a small fish, but also because his kit has so much mobility that you can drive your enemies crazy with your movement alone.

Lots of mobility allows you to easily sneak into enemy territory and also escape if things take the wrong turn, and this is what makes Fizz so good at roaming. If you are looking for an easy champ to win matches with, this is your answer.

Fizz has two dashes in his kit, and one of these dashes is essentially two separate jumps, so you can be sure that there’s no catching this slippery thing.

Playstyle and Tips:

Fizz is a pure AP assassin, and can kill any champion with ease. If played correctly, you can terrorize not only your enemy laner but also laners in other lanes through your stupidly high damage and mobility.

As Fizz, you should try to one-shot any squishy champion you find on your way. Plus, if things go south, running away on a champion like Fizz is an absolute breeze.

When roaming, try throwing your ultimate at maximum range to take your opponents by surprise. You can also E over walls for a quick sneak attack, and Q for a gap close or escape depending on the situation.

LeBlanc

Best Roaming Mid Laner LeBlanc League of LegendsLeBlanc, the deceiver, is easily one of the most annoying champions to play against in League of Legends, and this is coming from someone who loves playing this champion!

Like others on this list, LeBlanc is one of the champions with the highest mobility in the game, with a kit that allows you to use two long distance gap closers on a low cooldown, and then also letting you go back to either of the starting positions in a blink!

Playstyle and Tips:

LeBlanc is really strong in the midlane, where she can kill most champions with great ease right from the start of the match. However, she also excels at roaming because of how easily she can move over terrain and how quickly she can burst enemies down.

Most LeBlanc players pick up an early Dark Seal from the shop, which gives you bonus stats based on your kills and assists. To fill this item up, LeBlanc needs to roam around the map and kill as many people as possible, which is why she deserves a place on this list.

Pantheon

Best Roaming Mid Laner Pantheon League of LegendsIf you like how Galio’s kit allows him to turn around teamfights anywhere on the map, but don’t like the rest of his playstyle, Pantheon is the best pick for you.

This champion also has an ultimate ability that allows him to fly a long distance and land anywhere he wants on the map within a huge range. He deals some damage from landing, and can jump to his enemies right after he lands.

Playstyle and Tips:

Pantheon is one of the most played lane bullies. That means he can absolutely destroy the enemy laner in the early stages of the game. A lethality-build Pantheon can easily 100-0 any champion that dares to step up against him.

Once you kill your laner, or send him crawling back to his base, you can roam around the map to help your other lanes. Pantheon’s ultimate allows him to show up in any teamfight, and can help your teammates get kills even when they are just about to die.

Katarina

Best Roaming Mid Laner Katarina League of LegendsRoaming? Fights with multiple champions around? No one does it better than Katarina. This champion is literally a nightmare in big fights thanks to her dash and ability resets on enemy takedowns.

A good Katarina cleans up skirmishes around the map better than any other champion. If you are looking to carry your team by picking up kills from all over the Rift, this is the champion you should play.

Playstyle and Tips:

Katarina has no mana or energy costs, so you can easily spam her abilities and shove the minion wave into your enemy laner’s face. This will allow you to roam and look for kills elsewhere on the map.

Make sure you avoid enemy crowd control, since that is your only counter, and you should be good to go. Make those knives rain!

Final Thoughts

Roaming can let you win even those matches in which your lane is as dead as an abandoned mall, allowing you to pick up kills elsewhere and snowball quickly.

Some champions definitely have kits that make this a lot easier, and you should try picking up some of these champions if you enjoy frequent roams.

When playing mid-lane champions, most players want to prioritize mobile champions that can easily roam the map as well. This not only allows you to have a better time in the laning phase but also helps your team across the map by roaming quickly. However, since the mid-lane has a large champion pool, finding the best mobile champions can be quite difficult. Worry not because this guide will show you the 5 most mobile mid-laners in League of Legends.

The 5 most mobile mid-laners in League of Legends are:

  • Katarina
  • Zed
  • Yasuo
  • Leblanc
  • Akali

These are the 5 best mobile mid-lane champions in League of Legends. There are tons of other champions as well that could have made the list but the ones mentioned here are quite strong and have a good reason to be here. If you are curious to know more about why these champions are considered the most mobile mid-laners, continue reading to find out. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Katarina

Katarina Most Mobile Mid Laner in League of LegendsThe first champion on the list, Katarina is an extremely mobile champion that is quite annoying to face. After a few reworks, Katarina now can use her E to instantly teleport to a target. This is a point-and-click ability with a high cooldown during the early game. However, if you use your W, you will place a dagger on the ground. Step on the dagger to reduce the cooldown of your E.

Plus, you also place a dagger on the ground after using your Q. The best part is that you can use your E on your daggers to deal an AOE damage and instantly have a reduced cooldown as well. Place a W on your location and press E on the dagger which is placed near the enemy after Q. This will allow you to teleport all over the place easily without taking much damage.

Plus, if you get kills, all of your abilities will have reduced cooldowns as well. This is quite useful since you can teleport in, use your R to spin, get a kill and spam your teleport again. Katarina’s E is the reason why she is one of the most mobile champions in the game – especially in the mid-lane.

Zed

Zed Best Most Mobile Mid Laner in League of LegendsThis spot on the list was a tough choice since I was going to put Fizz here. However, thanks to Zed’s shadows, he is more mobile and has more outplay potential as well. He is an assassin that will always keep the enemy on their toes thanks to his abilities. Zed’s W summons a shadow that will copy all of his abilities. You can use this to easily poke the enemy from a distance or combine it with your spells and deal double the damage.

However, the reason why he is considered mobile is that you can cast your W again while your shadow is active to instantly switch positions. Now, you will be where your shadow was and it will be where you were when you pressed W. This can help you get away from ganks or chase the enemy with ease.

On top of that, you can use your R to become untargetable and teleport behind the selected enemy champion. It spawns a shadow at the location where you used your R. This allows you to have an additional shadow alongside your W.

You can either press your R or W to switch positions between the two shadows and keep your enemies guessing. This gives you a lot of mobility since you can basically teleport to two different locations just by a press of a button.

Not only is Zed a mobile champion, but he also deals a lot of damage thanks to all of his abilities and with the help of his shadows. After using your R, you can have two shadows that will copy your damage, allowing you to triple your damage output.

Yasuo

Yasuo Most Mobile Mid Laner in League of LegendsOne of the most annoying champions is Yasuo. He is easily one of the most memeable champions in the game. However, if used correctly, he can become a menace that is quite difficult to deal with. Thanks to his low cooldowns, you can spam your E to dash between minions and enemy champions easily. Once you dash through a target, they will go on cooldown and you’ll have to wait a bit before using E on them again.

This ability is best used on the minion wave so that you can close the gap and damage the enemy. Once you have done your damage, use your E on the remaining minions and head back to safety. Alternatively, you can use this to chase the enemy while they are running away in the lane.

His R is also something that can be considered a mobility spell. If an enemy champion is airborne, you can press R to instantly go behind them and slice them in the air like an anime. After a second, you will slam the enemy to the ground, dealing damage and gaining armor penetration. The reason why this spell is considered a mobility one is since it instantly teleports you behind the enemy from a distance. (dulcesdiabeticos.com)

Leblanc

Leblanc Most Mobile Mid Laner in League of LegendsGanking a Leblanc is almost impossible thanks to her mobility. Before hitting level 6 and getting her ultimate, Leblanc has one spell that allows her to dash in any direction. The best part is that you leave a mark behind where you can press W again to come back to your original position. This ability is great to dash into the enemy to poke them and press W again to return behind your wave and win the trade.

Plus, you can use this to go over walls as well. When the enemy flashes or jumps over the wall towards you, you can cast this ability again to go to your original place. This will waste the enemy’s flash and you’ll be safe.

Once Leblanc gains her ultimate, though, she gains even more mobility. Her ultimate allows her to cast the last used spell again for a low cost. If you use your W, your ultimate will also become that ability. This means that you can dash twice and also cast it again to return to your location as well. You leave behind two marks which will confuse the enemy since they will not know where you will come back.

Combine both of your abilities together and you’ll become an extremely mobile champion that will be impossible to gank or get away from. She is one of the best champions to juke the enemy with thanks to her abilities. Plus, you can even use your E to chain the enemy and root them for a few seconds to help you chase them even easily or getaway.

Most Mobile Mid in Laners League of Legends GuideThat’s not all, though. Her passive allows her to automatically summon a clone that can be controlled for a brief period. Once you reach a certain HP, Leblanc will go invisible for a short duration and summon a clone. You can use this to confuse the enemy since they will see two Leblancs heading in opposite directions. This gives you a 50% chance to run away and watch the enemy go after your clone. Her passive gives her even more mobility, making it near impossible to catch her, especially in the late game.

Akali

Akali Most Mobile Mid Laner in League of LegendsAkali is one of the most mobile champions in League of Legends. She has so many abilities that allow her to move around quickly while the enemy is scared of her. Starting with her W, she uses a shroud to conceal herself for a duration. While in the shroud, you can move around freely without being seen by the enemy. This allows you to gain lane control easily and avoid any incoming ganks as well.

While in the shroud, you can cast your spells or auto attacks and become invisible again. The best part is that you cannot be revealed even by control wards. Use this ability to zone the enemy or keep them on their toes and make your great escape.

Moving on to her next ability, Akali’s E allows her to jump backward while throwing a shuriken forward. If any enemy is hit by this, you can cast E again to jump to the enemy regardless of how far they are from you. You can use this ability to either dodge the enemy skill shots by jumping backward. On the other hand, you can also use this to put a mark on the enemy so that you can jump to them after they flash or use their mobility abilities to run away.

Most Mobile Mid Laners in League of LegendsYou can combine your E with your W as well. If you use your E while in your shroud, you can cast it again to come back to your shroud regardless of how far you are. Use this combo to confuse the enemy or poke them and return to safety. Regardless of how you use this combo, you will certainly keep the enemies on their toes.

Finally, her ultimate is another ability that gives her tons of mobility. You can use her ultimate twice since it has two stacks. The first stack has to be done on an enemy champion. This will stun them for a very brief period and you will jump over them and be on their opposite side. After a short duration, you can cast your R again in any direction and Akali will hastily slice through any enemy in that direction. You can use this to either execute the enemy or jump over walls depending on the situation.

You could have used her first part of her R anywhere but since that gave her more mobility than any other champion in the game, Riot changed it so you have to use the first cast on an enemy champion. Regardless of that, she is still easily one of the most mobile champions in the game.
