Over these few weeks, you have been enjoying Chapter 1 of Fortnite. While it seems like the perfect opportunity for Epic to regain the old player base. Fortnite OG isn’t about reliving the glory days but changing what happened after them. If you haven’t noticed the subtle changes around the map, this article will cover the OG storyline.

Fortnite OG Storyline

As much as we loved the old map coming back, the storyline didn’t quite make sense. How are we back? Wasn’t the old map destroyed by the Zero Point? Why is the map altered? All confusing and fair questions. To answer this, let’s take a deep dive on what the actual Fortnite OG Storyline is.

A bit of backstory

When we dropped into the OG map, everything seemed fine, except for some futuristic machines in Pleasant Park. If you played Chapter 4 you know it’s the time machine.

After playing around you might have noticed that this map isn’t the replica of the actual OG map. Some things changed, this is because it is being used for an extraction mission by none other than Agent Jones.

There are voice logs left by Sloan from the future aka Chapter 4 Season 4. Let’s travel to the future a bit.

On June 9th, 2023, the Island collapsed on itself leaving a giant crater. Inside was an entirely new biome, featuring ancient temples and artifacts.

 In the same biome, there was a roughed-down tank. Upon further inspection, it was found that Sloan who was once presumed dead had survived inside it.

Being the curious agent, she started looking for answers and It didn’t take her long to find something that predicted the end of the Fortnite World as we know it.

She found an ancient apparatus that projected to the sky. Long story short, this apparatus predicted an incoming eclipse that would end the world. Confused, she tried to make sense of this and called up an old friend – Agent Jones.

This call resulted in a master plan that could change the entire Fortnite Storyline. This was all possible because of the Chapter 4 villain Kado Thorne.

The Time Machine Heist

To give a bit of context, Kado is an evil vampire who is infamous for collecting artifacts across different realities. However, Kado also introduced something that wasn’t thought possible before – Time Travel. That is how he can collect artifacts like Midas’s Hand and Oro’s Skull. This time he is on the Island to steal some more. But this time, Sloan and her band group together to steal the Time Machine.

The heist was almost successful until the alarm rang causing Kado to show up. However, Kado had made a lot of enemies during his life, one of them was Shimmerdusk – a huntress that had been chasing him for years. The team then allies with Shimmerdusk and takes down Kado, taking control of the time machine.

The Extraction Mission

After experimenting and testing it, Sloan sends Agent Jones back to July 2018. She has also left audio logs to guide him. This is where we found the actual reason why the old map is back. Sloan doesn’t want to change the future but to perform an extraction.

Who and what it is we don’t yet know. For this we need help from a genius mind, someone who has helped us throughout the entire storyline for years – The Scientist. Throughout the week, Jones took us further into the future, we started at S5. Soon we will reach Season X, this is where the meteor came, and in the meteor was The Scientist.

Jones’s goal is to work with the Scientist towards his goal. We don’t yet know what this goal is. The Scientist is still building a rocket, you can see that at Dusty Divot right now. This time Jones has attached a time machine to it.

The Future aka Chapter 5

Knowing Jones he will mess this up somehow. Altering the End Event, and thrusting us right into Chapter 5. This will be an alternate version of The End event, changing Fortnite as we know it. This will be exciting as we could be reliving the entire Fornite storyline. Killed off characters coming back, and possibly some of the members of the Seven come back as well. It’s all speculation right now, and we will have to wait till December 2 to find out.

That pretty much explains the Fortnite OG Season Storyline. Every Fortnite player loved the Chapter 1 map. Its revival sent us back to nostalgic and undoubtedly peaceful times. The storyline for the redone season was written exceptionally well. It fitted the entire Fortnite Storyline nicely. Moreover, the devs loved the response to Fortnite OG Season so much that they confirmed it will be coming back in 2024.

Chapter 5 has also been quite promising with the introduction of three new exciting modes – Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and Lego x Fortnite.
