In the early days, South Korea reigned supreme, showcasing its dominance up until 2017. But come 2018, the narrative took a turn – introducing the era of China. Chinese squads ascended to
the throne, and with a few occasional hiccups, have staunchly defended their title. And the USA? Still on the hunt for their first gold 🥇. Europe, however, managed to snag a win once with the Fnatic squad from the United Kingdom and Germany.
A Look Back at the Past Four Winners
2019: China took the crown.
FunPlus Phoenix clinched the top spot, with Germany’s G2 Esports landing in second, and Invictus Gaming from China rounding out the top three.
2020: South Korea bounced back!
DAMWON Gaming emerged as the victor, with Suning from China coming in close at second and Top Esports bagging the third spot.
2021: China reigns again.
EDward Gaming rose to the challenge and secured first place, while DAMWON Gaming and Gen.G Esports from South Korea settled for second and third, respectively.
2022: South Korea back in the game.
DRX climbed their way to the first position, shadowed by their compatriots T1 and China’s JD Gaming sealing the third spot.
